These are for two lovely blonde little customers of mine. These are out of navy featherwale corduroy and hot pink. I love how rich the navy looks with the white pop of the blouses. Great fall and winter look. These are to match a cardigan that the girls have that is hot pink with navy blue scotties on it. I added hot pink little right above the slits for more girly charm!
And then to give a fun pop when they are running away from Mommy, she at least can look at the cute hot pink buttons down the back!

Red Day and a sneak peek

I just got all these really cute Farbenmix patterns in the mail and couldn't wait to try one. So when I got this cute little flyer from Sydney's school telling me that Monday was "red" day, I knew I had to break one out. This is Anna. Just a cute backwrap jumper. I did this one in red pique with an apple, of course. The lining is lime green and I topstitched it in green.
I had the bow from last year's Chrismas dress with the Grinch. So is the apple fabric. I love that twill. So bright and cheery.
I think my favorite part of this pattern is the back. I love how you can see a peek of the lining fabric. I lined this one in lime green check with little red ladybugs on it.

Here is a little sneek of what I have been doing too. These are little tabs that will go on a little cream colored featherwale corduroy aline dress. I drew these and the purple markings are still a little bit present. I sure hope my customer loves them as much as I do. They were lots of fun to make. I think Sydney might need some of these. What a great way to make a dress last for more than one theme. These will take her into spring.

Fall Sewing in full swing

I have broken out the corduroys now. I am ashamed to say that I have 37 different corduroys in my stash. They are all so pretty and special to me. I love the soft hand of featherwale and they make great warm jumpers in a flash. This is a straight jumper out of this very bright purple (Sydney's favorite shade of purple) with cute embroidered flowers in hot pink.
I got these cute suede hot pink shoes recently and there you go. Teamed with a hot pink turtleneck and in less than two hours she has a fun fall look.
Okay, back to the sewing room for more corduroy sewing. I am determined to get this stash down some this winter. These thick winter fabrics sure do take up lots of room in there.

First of School Bishop

This was Sydney's First Day of School dress. I have seen this smocking plate done for summertime and knew it would fit it great with my theme for the year. I did it shorter than you would normally do a bishop so it would work better for casual school clothes.
I also did little red buttons down the back of it. And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a huge red bow and red Mary Janes. She was so excited to get to wear this dress. It was the softest light blue pique fabric too. I can see this one getting lots of wear this Fall and even next Spring.
This is Sydney's "Princess Pose". Which as you can see, she seems to think she has perfected! I think she looks just like a princess! Don't you agree?

A Halloween Quickie!

Sydney was feeling under the weather today, so while she layed on the couch watching Lady and the Tramp I made her this cute Halloween fun outfit. This was from a charm pack of Moda Halloween prints. Then from a plain white t-shirt I did this cute applique. She leaned over the couch long enough today to tell me to make her a matching bow. Add some purple leggings and there you have it... I think with a plain pair of pants I could stretch out this top for more than just the month of October.
Wait until you see my next one!

Yeah! I have been sewing!

Here is my latest and greatest in Sydney's Fall wardrobe. There isn't an apple on it, but I just had to try out this new pattern. I think it is really cute. I added the flower because it seemed like something was missing on it.
And by request, Dolly needed a matching dress too.

Three Little Pumpkins for Fall

I was cleaning out Sydney's closet (hee-hee, get it?) the other day and realized Sydney didn't have anything with long sleeves! So I whipped this Fall corduroy dress for the cool weather, if it ever gets here.
This was the first time doing this Simplicity pattern, so I did it very simple. It fit her great so I have another one planned that will be more detailed. But this will work with some cream knee highs and some brown mary janes. She will be all set to twirl to her hearts content on the playground.

I am not quite sure I am really liking making this older style for Sydney yet. I still want to see her in little girl things, but I figure if I throw in some longer bodice peices in there then she will wear the bishops and high yoked things in there too.

Okay, off to get her to preschool, which I will say I am loving having 3 hours alone every other day. It feels like forever since I had some alone time just for me. Right now I am spending it at the pool swimming laps or getting manicures and pedicures. Maybe after the novelty of it wears off I will stay at home and sew some. But for now, I can't stay home long enough for any of that!
