Tres Chic

Today my Father in Law became a Deacon in our church. There was a huge ceremony and we had lots of family there. We were very proud of him. So, my little angel needed a new dress for the special day. This is pale pink corduroy with black dots on it. I have had it in my stash for about a year now. I used black and white gingham for the collar and cuffs. A black and white bow tops her sweet little head.

I was almost finished with the dress when I didn't like the front of it. It seemed way too plain so I added a monogram and I am so glad I did. I think it makes it much more classic.

I really like this style on her. I think it is really age appropriate and can see lots of these dresses for spring. I really like the fit of this dress too.

Sweet Cheeks and Me

Isn't that just the sweetest name you have ever heard? It just makes me smile. This is the cutest chicest little boutique. They have these fun baby items that just can't be found anywhere. Warm and cuddly Baby Legs that are so needed right now with the cold weather. And the fun designs and prints they come in just makes you want to team them up with adorable onsies with fun sayings that will get the neighbors talking! Sayings like "Daddy's Huntin'Buddy" and "Mommy's Shopping Buddy" are so cute and who doesn't think of that with our little ones, or want the neighbors to know it!

Sweet Cheeks also has gifts like Naptime Swankie Blankie you can design yourself. Yes, you can design these onsies and blankets yourself. Add your own flare to them. Personalize a onsie with a monogram of the newest addition to your house and a blanket and burpcloth to match. So cute and the fun doesn't stop there... she has the cutest Swankie Blankie Hooded Towels. These adorable towels have a fun hood that is in wild zebra prints and polka dots! They are just too cute! What a fun gift for the next birthday party your child attends. I know I am thinking ahead and Sydney will be the most popular child on the block delivering one of these fun towels to the birthday girl or boy. Yes, they have it in camo too. Just way too much fun!

And right now she has 10% off her diaper covers. She has them with monograms or fun sayings...anything your heart desires. I love the pink ruffled ones and think every little girl needs lots of these! And the monogrammed ones would carry thru all those spring and summer dresses. Looking at all her different fonts, I am amazed at all the different ways a monogram can look. Hey, teaming this up with a tee for the older little one and a nice monogrammed bum for the baby and there you go! My wheels are turning and I am getting so excited about all the possibilities!

So, head on over there and tell Jill hi from me! She can help you put together a fun gift for your little one or for someone else's little bundle of joy. Just don't ask her about our little escapades in 9th grade! She will have you in stitches telling stories of our big 80's hair and wild fashion sense!

Happy Valentine's Day!

My little Valentine had her preschool Valentine's party. So, of course, she needed a party dress. She requested it to be twirlly. I had this cute pattern that I have made before and knew that was what I would be making.
Then a very good friend of mine, who adopted Sydney as her very own grandchild, sent me these two fun corduroys.
I actually finished this little number on Monday and it has been hanging in my sewing room for the past 5 days. Sydney would stroke it and rub on it every time she walked past it. She couldn't wait for her party today to wear it.
I did tweak this pattern a bit. I can't stand zippers in children's clothes. So I am forever changing those dreaded zippers in patterns to buttons. They just seem more classic and appropriate for little ones. Call me a purist!
I hope you get lots of hugs and kisses on this Valentine's Day. I sure am!

Euro Style

I have been admiring all these fun European patterns and couldn't wait to try them out. This one was out of some fun knits. Sydney wanted three braids to go with her wild outfit. This was super comfy and she was so cute skipping around at lunch today.
This pattern has this fun hood that made her giggle to no end. And the kangaroo pocket was fun for holding all her treasures!
