Easter sewing continues

Because I am somewhat practical... okay, stop laughing! I am practical! I am only doing four Easter dresses for Sydney! And all but one can be worn afterwards. Okay, I am done justifying my love of theme sewing! But, hey, who doesn't love to do things with a theme, I ask you? Not me!

This is the second one. The first was the peas and carrots dress. This one is a reversible jumper. I loved the sweet white bunny looking at the butterfly. And I figured that this might be my last year to do something that sweet for her. The reverse side says the best season of all... Spring!

I love making matching blouses with all Sydney's jumpers. I just think they add something special to the whole outfit. It pulls it together and looks much more boutique that way. I had planned on making a blouse with this when looking in Sydney's closet I ran across this pink and white blouse I made her that worked perfectly with this. The piping on the jumper is the exact color pink!

Last, but certainly not least, is this sweet little aline dress for a customer. I smocked the sleeves to dress up this pink pique some. I love the sweet little eyelet for the collar and sleeves. I did this one a little short so the little bloomers can be seen. This little darling is starting to crawl and shorter is better for her movement.
The adorable little duck is one I traced out from an embroidery site....shhhh! And then just did it by hand. It came out really sweet and she will look festive the whole spring season wearing her new dress.

Sweet as Sugar

This dress is so sweet it is about to give me a cavity! I just love it. The soft pretty pink floral with green centers is teamed with the green tri-check. I used covered buttons and then pleated the ruffle for the collar with my pleater. Love that gadget! I also used some of that pleating for the top of the adorable tiny pocket. I piped out the little bias binding for the puffed sleeves to complete the yumminess! (Is that a word? Well, it should be ! )
I love how even the back of this dress has great details! The great box pleat and the belt is so cute! It adds interest even as the cute little one is running away.
This dress is for a customer who wanted a Spring dress that she could also use all summer long. And she was thrilled with the results. I can't wait to see a picture of the cutie pie wearing this little dress. Pink is definately her color!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Well, as you can see we ate green food today, but no cornbeef and cabbage at my house. I don't like it and my little vegetarian I have for a daughter would have nothing to do with it, I am sure. So instead we ate lots of green today. Green grapes with lunch and green pears with breakfast.
We made rice crispies treats this afternoon so we could have a green dessert tonight.

And since it will just be the two of us tonight, I did a vegetable stir fry. How do you like all my wonderful green vegetables? Yum.

Here is my little ones pretty plate. She is a princess, after all! She could eat her weight in carrot sticks and sugar snap peas. Add some white rice and for her, she has a meal.

And here is my wonderful plate of veggies. Don't be fooled and think I am some health nut. Yesterday for lunch I had a box of Girl Scout cookies. And don't think I won't be digging in those rice crispies treats too!!!!

Peas and Carrots

This is a casual Spring/Easter dress for Sydney. I love the contrasting pleat and have been wanting to try this style jumper for a while. I love how this came out and Sydney was pleased as can be too. I made her a white blouse under it with just white rick rack because she really needed a plain white blouse and this can go under her other dress for Easter egg hunting. You will hopefully, see that one next week.

I am doing good. I am more than halfway done with Easter sewing. I can see the end coming near. I have lots of ideas running around in my head for Spring and can't wait to start some fun smocked sundresses for summertime.

So, tonight eat some peas and carrots for us! Sydney requested them tonight with chicken fingers. Sounds like a healthy dinner to me!

On a Roll

"Look at me, look at me, look at me now!
It is fun to have fun but you have to know how!" Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat

I have been thinking of that line all this week. My sewing machine has been humming away and I am making progress. I have white bags with pretty bows all lined up with customer orders that have been completed. I am loving all the hustle and bustle of doing so many orders. It really appeals to my Virgo tendencies.

Oh, this little knit number is for Sydney. She needed a new outfit for St. Patrick's Day, of course! I decided to be practical and do something green instead of something with a shamrock on it. This looks so comfy, I was wondering if I could get away with this look. I think not! But I did ponder this while taking the picture!

Can you believe I have posted so much in the past week? me neither! More to come!

Reversible jumper for Spring

This is a reversible spring dress for the cutest little dark haired 18 month old. She can wear this for Easter and then afterwards all summer long. This also has a diaper cover in the tricheck that the buttons, piping and bottom ruffle is made from. So cute!

Sweet lavendar

This is my latest outfit made. Okay, 5 down and 13 to go. This is lavendar pique made for the sweetest little 7 month old you have ever seen! This is a swing top with the cutest little pocket. And just to make it work for both cold spring and warm summer days we decided on pants for now with a long sleeved onsie and bloomers for hot summer days.

I love making swing sets for little ones in the summertime. They look so cute and pulled together. The back of this one has two buttons at the top and it is all open and curves around to the sides. I am thinking that the bloomers would look adorable with ruffles on them or a ME with their name on it. Wouldn't that be cute?
Okay, back to Easter dresses I go. I am making great progress.
And the two I did last week are being shown off at Farmhouse Fabrics. Sally thought they were great and how fun is that for me?!!!! I will be shipping those out this week for the two young ladies who will be wearing them this spring.

Green weekend

Here is my favorite pot. I love this heavy green thing. And beside it are my "green" bags for the grocery store. This is another picture taken from Sydney. She had no trouble finding green in my kitchen.
Well, back to sewing now. I hope you enjoyed my green escape this week. It has brought with it some wonderful sunny weather. I have enjoyed the park and long walks breathing in warm air. I am ready for spring now.
Okay, coming next week are some fun spring dresses for some lucky little girls. So check back soon to see what your little one could be wearing this spring!

Green week continues

So, I know, I forgot yesterday, but I have been busy! So I had my little Mommy's helper take some pictures for me. And I must say, she did a fantastic job. These are two of her favorites that she did. Oh, and she did the one on Monday too.

pink and green sister Easter dresses

I told you I was sewing! These are for two adorable sisters. The peasant dress is for the 7 year old and the 2 year old gets the jumper and blouse. They will be all set for those fun spring activities like Easter egg hunts and picnics. You know how much I love pink and green and this twill is a great weight fabric. And did you notice...there's my green for the day!

I love the pockets on this jumper. I chose a pink and green tricheck to compliment the pockets and to line and pipe the outfit. The matching white blouse has the same piping to tie the two together. I love the swing style. Looks so cute and moves so great while they are moving about. I also made bloomers so as the spring weather turns to hot summertime, this little one can wear this jumper with just the bloomers and leave the blouse at home. She is all set!

This lovely young lady liked the peasant style best. I added a sash to this dress and bound the sleeves to match them. It has shirring on the neckline and waist for a perfect fit. I think this is perfect for the older child. She will be lovely in pink and green for spring wearing this. I did a button in the same tricheck on the back of the band for some unexpected detail.

Green week day 2

Okay, this really has nothing to do with sewing now does it? Oh, well. Don't you worry, I am sewing my little tushie off! These are from my yard last summer. I love hostas! See you tomorrow with some new dresses I finished up yesterday but the snow was not a good background!

It's Green Week!

Because I am tired of all the cold weather, I decided to participate in Shining egg's Green Week. So here is my first entry. Plus, this is a good excuse to blog some. I have been knee deep in Easter sewing so this is a great diversion aka procrastination tool!
This is the prince my baby made. She loves crafts and my friend, Carol, loves finding these little things for her to do. Thanks again, Carol!
See you tomorrow!
